Profile

Will joined Pengillys in September 2022 beginning his career with us by undertaking a paralegal apprenticeship after completing his A-Levels in the summer. He successfully qualified in September 2024, achieving a distinction whilst doing so and becoming a qualified CILEx Paralegal.

This enabled Will to enrol onto the solicitor apprenticeship with BPP University which will see him complete an LLB degree and take the SQE exams in order to be admitted as a solicitor. He is due to qualify as a solicitor in the summer of 2029.

Will works in the property and conveyancing department and is based in our Poundbury office. He will undertake a variety of work to ensure he will have a depth of experience by the time he qualifies as a solicitor. The majority of his work is with Tom Cleall, but William has started to build up and manage his own caseload by himself with Tom supervising this work to ensure our high standards are being met while he is able to learn on the job in the best possible way.

Will has also taken on a considerable amount of adverse possession claims for clients.  This involves taking instructions from clients to formulate an application to take registered ownership of land where they have had practical use and enjoyment and the land is not currently registered, or where it is, the owner of the land has been absent for many years.
